BEIJING :
Chinese President Hu Jintao said on Friday appreciated the role of Pakistan
saying it has made outstanding contributions in the fight against
terrorism. President Hu made these
remarks during his meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, the
Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir told APP.The bilateral meeting
between President Hu and Prime Minister Gilani was held here at the Great
Hall of the People.President Hu said that the
international community should respect Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial
integrity and independence.
President Hu also called
upon the international community to help Pakistan in its endeavour to combat
extremism and terrorism.
Pakistan, President Hu said is an important country in the region and has a unique role in promoting the reconciliation and development in Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Gilani on the occasion thanked President Hu for Chinese support for expressing full solidarity to Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
He also express thanks to President Hu for Pakistan’s economic development especially in the sectors of energy, agriculture and infrastructure development. APP
