CIA ready for emergency action against key Taliban, Qaeda leaders in Pakistan

London : The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has finalised a plan of action in case it finds evidence about the presence of Taliban leader Mullah Muhammad Omar, Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri and other key terrorists in Pakistan, a Pakistani newspaper has said.

A naval fleet, equipped with necessary satellite technology and other gadgetry, is anchored close to Pakistan’s coastal areas for an emergency action, The Nation reports.

A CIA group that takes part in such activities is already on board, the paper said, adding that the group has the capacity to swing into action within no time.

According to the paper, the CIA has set up separate teams for action against various Qaeda leaders.

Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, who had evaded capture for a decade, was killed on May 2 in a top-secret US unilateral military operation involving a small team of American Special Forces in Pakistan’s Abbottabad city.

The team that killed bin Laden in the May 2 operation has been sent on a recreational tour, and will be protected by a special security team, said the paper.

The data about the Abbottabad operation has been handed over to Pentagon and the CIA to avoid future leaks, it added. ANI
