Serbian genocide suspect Ratko Mladic has
insisted he was not responsible for the 1995 Srebrenica massacre in
which thousands of innocent civilians were killed.
Mladic is accused of genocide, persecution, extermination, murder,
deportation, inhumane acts, inflicting terror on civilians and taking
hostages. After visiting his father in a detention centre at Serbia's war crimes court, his son Darko said his father insisted he had nothing to do with the Srebrenica mass killings.
"He said that whatever was done in Srebrenica, he had nothing to do with it. He saved so many women, children and fighters," The Sun quoted Darko, as saying.
"His order was first to evacuate the wounded, women and children and then fighters. Whoever did what behind his back, he had nothing to do with it," he added.
Mladic's imminent transfer to The Hague has been confirmed by court officials. (ANI)
