Anti-Pakistan propaganda inundates Afghan channels

Despite all efforts to build healthy working relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan governments, some unseen hand is bent upon vitiating the environment by inundating Afghan media with blatant disinformation, said well-informed sources. According to observers, the Pakistan-bashing campaign has picked up in the aftermath of Osama bin Laden’s killing at Abbottabad. Unknown persons claiming allegiance with shady warlords are regularly appearing on Afghan TV channels and making fake confessions concerning Pakistan’s involvement in anti- US or NATO operations in Afghanistan.
In a well-established pattern on Afghan TVs, notorious criminal warlords, known for waging insurgency against Pakistan, are routinely projected as Pakistani protegees destablizing Afghanistan.
In one recent confession, an Afghan appeared on Shamshad TV in Kabul, claiming to be a former member of group of Commander Ahmed Wali alias Umar Khalid.
Making outrageous accusations, the imposter alleged that the Umar Khalid group, operating out of Pakistani territory, was involved in attacks on US and NATO troops and that these activities sought to destablize Afghanistan at Pakistan’s behest.
According to sources such accusations belie the anti-Pakistan bent of the group and also the fact that Umar Khald is a notorious commander of a major criminal gang operating in Mohmand Agency of Pakistan who has violated every custom and tradition of the Pakhtunwali-Pathans code of conduct. Jirgas,  holding sacrosanct and enjoying blanket immunity from any aggression in Pashtun traditions, have been repeatedly targeted by Umar Khalid.
In the same vein many tribal elders including members of peace committee have been killed by this group in the gravest possible violation of the local traditions where elders are held in the highest regard irrespective of tribal affiliations.
Not only that the Group has sponsored suicide attacks against the security forces and political administrations in Ghalanai area of Mohamand Agency.
According to sources, Commander Umar Khalid, actively sought in Pakistan and having well known RAW connections, is pursuing anti-Pakistan agenda at the behest of his Indian and Afghan masters.
It is manifest that intelligence agencies of these countries, behind the cover provided by hostile propaganda, have joined hands in conducting terrorist activities in FATA as well as settled areas of Pakistan.
Demolishing the centuries old tribal system of conflict resolution, the nexus sponsors criminal warlords who operate outside of local customs and traditions which till some years back effectively guided the conduct of affairs in the erstwhile Frontier Region of Pakistan. APP
