Supreme Court encloses Canadian citizen’s letter with memo case; issues notices to President, PM & DG ISI

The Supreme Court has issued notices to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani with regard to the memogate case in response to a letter that was faxed to the court by a Pakistani residing in Canada.

The Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has passed the order that this application be treated as petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution as prima facie in this matter threat to the security of Pakistan and citizens has been alleged.
Notice to the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, DG ISI, Hussain Haqqani, Advisor to President, Advisor to Prime Minister and Attorney General for Pakistan for tomorrow Monday (19-12-2011).
Chief Justice has said in order that the case is to be fixed with the case already fixed on same subject. The petition has been enclosed with the main petition.
The notices refer to the letter written by Shafqat Ullah in which the writer has said in his letter that he was writing in regard to recent development of Mansoor Ijaz memo handed over to Mike Mullen of USA (ex army chief) allegedly sponsored by President Asif Ali Zardari, his government members and our foreign High Commissioner of USA Hussain Haqqani.
Shafqat Ullah has said that it is an open case now and there is no conspiracy. He has attached the copies of the news published in various papers.
Shafqat Ullah has said that as this is directly related to the security of Pakistan and Armed forces of Pakistan, so it is a matter of national security and national interest, adding that our national security s on stake now and politicians are just making fun of each other by asking so called committees to for inquiry. Committees will delay the outcomes rater than justice, he added.
Addressing to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, he has said that political leaders are not going to take it serious as they are culprit of the case and the specially the present government will not take any action on it due to directly involved in this case.
Shafqat has said that if the contents of the letter are true than each and every Pakistani is at security threat due to present government and this government is not safeguarding the interests of its own people and departments but it is securing the interests of other nations or enemies of Pakistan.
This is an anti state act and how comes a person involved in this matter is sitting on the key post of Pakistan and is a supreme commander of Pak armed forces, he said in letter.
Shafqat Ullah has said that his family members are in Army and all family members are in Pakistan so he feels insecurity from this government as they can invite the enemies to kill us, adding that being a citizen of Pakistan I am requesting to you (CJP) to take suo moto notice on this matte and find the facts to make a clear judgment.
