PML-N files another plea in apex court on memo issue

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has filed another miscellaneous application before the Supreme Court to make three other people party in the Memegate case.

Application has been filed by PML-N leaders Ishaq Dar and Khwaja Asif on Friday stating that the three including Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Wajid Shamsul Hasan, journalists Shaheen Sehbai, Group Editor The News and Mohmmad Malick, Editor The News Islamabad should be made party in memogate scandal case.
It has been stated in application that the ambassador in various interviews with UK, US and Indian TV channels had claimed that Pakistan knew of May 02 Osama bin Laden (OBL) raid 8-10 days ago and even use of choppers was allowed. The ambassador also said that Pakistan helped US in tracking down Osama.
It is worth mentioning here that Mohammad Malick in his column has quoted Mehreen Zehra’s piece in Newsweek that said Hussain Haqqani and President Zardari had prior knowledge of Abbottabad operation.
The application also prayed the apex court to instruct Foreign Office to ensure Wajid’s presence in the court for once and should not be allowed to leave the country until the conclusion of investigations over the memo issue. SANA
