Petition seeking PM Gilani's disqualification filed

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notice to Attorney General (AG) on the petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

Moulvi Iqbal Haider filed the petition taking the plea that PM had leveled objectionable allegations with reference to national institutions which was sheer violation of article 63 of the constitution.
The petitioner prayed the court to make it binding on Speaker National Assembly to approach Election Commission in connection with disqualification of PM. In the petition, PM Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, federation of Pakistan, speaker National Assembly and Election Commission have been made respondents. Online
