No clue of 50 Pakistanis traveling in sunk ship: Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: None of the missing Pakistani nationals was found among 95 dead bodies recovered at two different islands in Indonesia, Foreign Office has stated. According to a press release issued here on Monday also stated that consular team of the Pakistan’s Embassy met six Pakistani survivors to pace up efforts for finding the deceased Pakistanis in the sad incident of December 18.

Some 155 out of the total 250 passengers on board in the ship sunk in East Java Sea, Indonesia, on December 18 are still missing and only 95 dead bodies were found, Pakistani foreign ministry said.
According to unconfirmed reports, the passengers also included over 50 Pakistani nationals. Many of them belonged to the Hazara tribe in Baluchistan. Nearly 95 bodies have been recovered and placed at two different islands in Indonesia. However, so far not a single dead body has been identified as a Pakistan national.
“Our Embassy in Jakarta has set up an Emergency Cell which is working round the clock, in coordination with the relevant authorities in Quetta, for identification of the nationality of the deceased,” a spokesman of the foreign ministry said.
The Consular Team of the Embassy has already met six Pakistani survivors in Surabaya Island.
