Peace wish is not weakness: Babar Awan

Talagang: Former Minister Dr Babar Awan has said that no other country could take advantage of Pakistan’s peace desire. Those who think that they would swallow the country like chocolate are living in fool’s paradise.
He was speaking to the inaugural ceremony of the lawyers’ chambers at the newly built Judicial Complex at Talagang on Saturday. He said that although Pakistan is a peace-loving nation. Despite being nuclear power she never had aggressive designs against any country but if someone tries harm this country a befitting reply will be given.

He said that it is the matter of great concern that USA, proud of its democratic traditions, has double standards while dealing with India and Pakistan. He said that the responsibility of USA’s failure in Afghanistan is being shifted to Pakistan.
“We would fight only to protect our boundaries instead of proxy war on behalf of other countries”, the senior leader of PPP said.
He said that Balochistan was overlooked in the past but for the first time in the history PPP government gave the province its due rights. The government presented highest ever budget of Rs 84 billion for the development of Balochistan. Whenever the democracy begin to flourish in the country, anti democratic elements begin the propaganda of failed state against the country.
Babar Awan was of the view that PPP has prevented the ways for dictators. After passing 18th and 19th amendments, the tyrants would have not any kind of legal protection for them in future. It was the PPP that made accountable army and intelligence agencies in front of parliament .Peoples Party also restored 1973 constitution in its original shape and made the parliament supreme.
He said that those who wanted a failed APC have been frustrated. PPP would continue its policy of reconcillation by taking all partiers on board as the era of solo flight is over. Online
