ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Secretariat has decided to suspend
its six officers for not presenting their educational documents despite
the orders from the government.
Well placed sources told Online
the process for verification of educational certificates and degrees of
government employees was started following the initiation of
verification process by High Education Commission (HEC) of the members
of Provincial and National assemblies and Senate.
Verification
of documents of the employees of NA secretariat was also carried out
and degrees and certificates over 1000 employees including officers and
junior staff have been sent to respective educational boards and
universities for verification.
NA secretariat had given
deadline of September 20 to its employees for providing their
educational certificates and degrees. Six officers serving in the
grades ranging between grade 17 and 21 have not provided their degrees.
NA secretariat spokesman told decision was taken to check the
degrees under the directives of NA speaker Dr Fahmida Mirza. It has
also been decided to suspend these six officers for not providing
degrees and a notification in this respect will b issued till Monday,
he said. The officers who will provide degrees will be reinstated, he
