Six suspected militants, including Taliban commander
Mullah Nazir’s brother, were killed and six others were injured, in a
US drone attack in South Waziristan Agency bordering Afghanistan here on
Thursday; meanwhile at least two army personnel were martyred and three
others injured in the result of the remoter controlled bomb blast at
Shakai.
Six missiles were fired at a vehicle in the tribal region’s Azam
Warsak area, killing Taliban commander Mullah Nazir’s younger brother,
Hazrat Umar Wazir, his son, Khan Muhammad, and a cousin Nematullha and
Marajuddin, sources said.
The suspected militants killed in Thursday’s drone strike were riding
in a double-cabin pickup truck from Tora Gola village to the nearby
area of Azam Warsak when they were hit, officials said, adding three
other people were injured in the attack.
According to a private TV channel said that the local residents have
confirmed the death of mullah nazir’s brother; the injured were shifted
in a local health centre.
According to the reports many drones remaining carrying flights on
the area for many hours which created panic among the local residents;
meanwhile in separate attack of remote control bomb in the Shakai area
of South Waziristan Agency two army personnel were martyred and three
others injured.
In another incident, two levies personnel were injured in a remote
controlled bomb blast at Landi Kotal area of the Khyber Agency,
neighboring Afghanistan.
Officials said the security men were on their routine patrolling when they became target of a bomb planted by local militants. SANA
