Dengue virus claims six more lives

LAHORE: Deadly dengue virus has claimed six more lives including four women bringing the overall death toll to 137 in Lahore and 150 in entire Punjab.

In Lahore Farhat 35, resident of leather market, Jawaria 23 from Township and Arsalan 14 from Band Road , 42 year old Safdar from Shadbagh, and Rafaqat Bibi from Bandar Road died of dengue virus.
Shakeela from Sialkot who was being treated in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, also died. In Multan, five more patients of Dengue were admitted to Nishtar Hospital.
In Gujranwal, Mussrat Bibi, 45, was also reported dead. Three more patients were admitted to the District Hospital Gujranwala. There are 86 patients of dengue in Gujranwala.
In Dera Ghazi Khan four patients were confirmed to have dengue virus. Total number of patients in DG Khan is 36. Six patients have died here. In Bahawalpur, Sialkot and Sargodha, 14, 3 and 9 patients of dengue were admitted.
In Khyber PaKhtunkhwa, despite increasing number of dengue patients, many areas of Peshawar have not been sprayed. There are 180 patients in the province while 5 patients are being treated in Lady Reading Hospital. Online
