Sri Lankan team of doctors spends busy day at Lahore

LAHORE: On special request by Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, the team of visiting medical experts from Sri Lanka to eradicate Dengue virus, went to several places at Lahore including Services Hospital.

The team, during the visit of the hospital inspected probable birth places of the mosquitoes containing Dengue virus. They also saw bathrooms, open places, different sewerage points and dumping area of the hospital.
On the occasion Medical Superintendent of Services Hospital apprised the Sri Lankan doctors that a comprehensive waste management plan has been chalked out under which trash is removed from the hospital on daily basis. He told them that medical waste is sent to General Hospital Lahore where it is disposed in incinerator.
On the occasion the team suggested that it is a dare need to monitor the atmosphere regularly alongwith cleanliness of the hospital so that mosquitoes as well as larva could not be survived. Similarly reproduction of larva could be stooped by using chemicals. Later the Sri Lankan team visited Race Course Park and Lahore Canal to collect the samples of water form the channel and fountains. Online
