JSQM chief jailed on 4-day judicial remand

KARACHI: The chairman JSQM, Bashir Qurieshi, has been sent to jail, on a 4-day judicial remand, alongwith his accomplice.
Bashir Qurieshi was produced in Maleer court of Friday, which ordered that a challan in reference to section 173 should be registered, and produced during the next hearing, while it also accepted the bail of his associate Shiraz Ahmad.

Talking to media outside the court, Bashir Qurieshi said that government was hoodwinking masses over Karachi operation, and while decaling Rehman Malik as a lair said that he (Bashir Qurieshi) was innocent, since he possessed licensed weapons.
He also complained that despite two murder attempts on him, Rehman Malik failed to take any action against the culprits, while he (Bashir) despite being innocent was apprehended in a minute’s notice.
He berated the Provincial government for having failed to resolve crisis and mandate of masses.
It is pertinent to note that Rangers had arrested Bashir Qurieshi yesterday, over owing illegal weapons and had handed him to police, alongwith his associates. Online
