RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Accountability Court (AC) has acquitted former Chairman CBR, A R Siddiqui in COTECNA reference.
Judge
AC No 3 Jahandad Khan Banth announced the verdict.
Court said in its
decision that prosecution had failed to prove charges.
COTECNA
reference was filed in AC during 2001. NAB had levelled allegations for
awarding contract to a foreign company COTECNA during Benazir regime.
NAB had taken the plea financial benefit was given to Benazir Bhutto
and Asif Ali Zardari while awarding the contract and commission was
also received in this scam.
NAB however could not provide
evidence in the court in this respect and allegations could not prove
against Asif Ali Zardari, Nusrat Bhutto and others. Therefore, case has
been filed. Online
