Verdict in Sarfraz Shah murder case reserves for 12th

KARACHI: A special Anti-terrorism court comprising Session Judge Bashir Ahmad Khosa reserved judgment of Sarfraz Shah murder case Friday, 12 August.

An anti-terrorism court in Karachi reserved the verdict of Sarfraz Shah murder case here on Tuesday for August 12.
The defendant Afsar Shah’s lawyer Amir Warriach while Shaukat Hayat Advocate from Shahid Zafar and Muhmmad Afzal concluded their arguments, whereas, the Special Public Prosecutor also accomplished his arguments on behalf of prosecution.
The defendant’s lawyers in the court argued that the investigation of the case was revolved around the video which was shown in media. It cannot be declared that the incident was a terrorist activity under the light of witnesses. They were of the view that the incident of murder comes under Err of murder.
On the other hand, Special Public Prosecutor Muhammad Khan Broro in his final remarks argued that all the witnesses of prosecution recorded their statements against the criminals and the witnessers identified them, who were involved in terrorist activity. Therefore, it has been proved through the witnessers that Sarfraz Shah case was purely a terrorist act. He was brutally killed by the criminals.
The public prosecutor appealed to the court to reserve verdict of death sentence for the murderers.
The court reserved its verdict for murdering 22-year-old Sarfaraz Shah by hearing the final arguments from both sides including prosecution and defendants.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rangers Sub-Inspector Bahaur Rehman, Lance-Naik Liaquat Ali, and constables Mohammad Tariq, Minthar Ali, Shahid Zafar, Mohammad Afzal and a private contractor, Afsar Khan, have been prosecuted for murdering 22-year-old Sarfaraz Shah with intention in the Benazir Bhutto Park in Karachi’s Clifton area on June 8.
The case was registered in Boat Basin Police Station under section 34/302 and section 7 of Anti-Terrorist Act 1997. Online
