Local govt system to be implemented strictly: Qaim Ali Shah

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced reinstatement of old local Government system of 2001, to be implemented strictly.

Presiding a high level meeting regarding resolving issues of Local Government system 2001at C.M House on Tuesday, the CM Sindh said that the Province of Sindh has reverted back to He maintained that there should be no delay in implementation of programme of the province particularly the development works be implemented effectively and timely, adding that the rules be followed and requirements be fulfilled properly.
The meeting discussed various issues pertaining to follow up, implementation of matters with regard to Local Government system 2001, and decided that Administrator Karachi will be posted while, the DCOs of all remaining districts of province will be given additional charge of Administrators.
The meeting also decided that Taluka Municipal Administrations are being revived and T.M.O’s were being posted / notified for those Taluka’s, while it was also decided that the funds would be released on priority basis for development schemes throughout province, so as to complete the on- going schemes within stipulated time.
The Secretary Finance informed the meeting that Account 4 has been restored and funds will be released as per requirement. While chief secretary Sindh informed that the posts of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners had been abolished as per revival of Local Government system 2001, and notification to this effect was being issued today.
Regarding magisterial powers to curb the menace of hoarding of essential commodities and illegal profiteering, it was informed that the letter has been sent to Federal Government through Law department and necessary amendments in Cr P.Cs will be issued accordingly.
Chief Minister Sindh directed the concerned department to fully follow the instructions of the government in proper manner. Online
