ISLAMABAD: Members of National Assembly have expressed concerns over
the burning, bloody crisis of Karachi, declaring that eking out
political mileages over deadbodies of innocent citizens was being
shamelessly carried out.
Debating the law and order situation
of Karachi and Quetta in N.A on Tuesday, PML-N’s Ayaz Amir said that a
tirade of irresponsible, and imprudent statements delivered in House
had heated the already simmering political temperature of Karachi,
while even the irrelevant institutions like Army had a chance to
comment on the issue of Karachi with impunity.
He laid the
entire responsibility of Karachi crisis on warring adversaries, MQM and
PPPP, and said that Army should not be allowed any chance to be forced
to comment on National issues.
“ But only if the government was
carrying out is responsibilities with due care and prudence, the Corps
commanders’ meeting might have not required to comment on the Karachi
crisis”, he bemoaned.
Fauzia Wahab expressed that Karachi
crisis was an open indication of divisions and chaos within and among
political forces themselves, while endangering and imperiling lives of
innocent patriotic citizens. She stressed on ending this division and
chaos among and within political forces for returning to normalcy.
ANP’s
Jamila Durrani reasoned that bloody murder and gore was nevertheless
not the solution to any crisis, as 350 have been killed in July, and
stressed that unless Karachi’s political forces considered/accepted
ground realities, any political solution of crisis was impossible.
PML-Q’s,
Ameer Muqam wanted a military operation like that of Malakand and Swat
to restore peace in Karachi, expressing his chagrin over dual system of
governance in a metropolis, which was heart of Pakistan, where peace
was imperative. He accused PPPP, MQM and ANP for their equal share in
rekindling the flame of hatred and fire in Karachi, and also wanted
resumption of LB government in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, where ‘it was much
needed’. He said that Karachi did not need any ordinance, but an
operation, as any ordinance should be promulgated in entire Country.
PPPP’s
Syed Nasir Ali Shah was chagrined over the fact that nobody had debated
about Quetta. He was especially critical of PM’s totally ignoring the
issue of Balochistan, where FC troops gleefully fired out at five
foriegners, but had never attempted any action on any criminal.
He
also stressed on immediate resignation of PM, over his failure to
restrain control over crisis and give chance to other seniors to come
forward.
PML-N’s Gen (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch said that so far
not a single culprit had been arrested or killed, while all innocent
citizens were being targeted for God knows what reason.
He
demanded that interior minister Rehman Malik should inform as to which
parts of Balochistan he had visited during the past three years.
Taking
part in debate PML-N’s Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that he was subject
to his party discipline over all issues including that of carving out
new provinces; but had nevertheless advised his party to initiate the
division of Punjab on administrative basis, assuring that any province
would be carved out with due consensus. Online
