Petition seeking disqualification of PM filed in LHC

LAHORE: Petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani from his office for not implementing superior courts decisions by him.

Petition has been filed by the petitioner Allah Bakhsh Dogar through senior advocate AK Dogar.
The petitioner has taken the plea in his petition that non-implementation of court’s decisions by federal government against NRO and holding of dual offices by the President Asif Ali Zardari is a heinous crime. Government has openly descended to pursue confrontational path with the judiciary, petition further said. Government on the other hand removes from their offices those senior officers who implement court’s orders. PPP office bearers observe strike and demonstrate protest against court’s decisions, petition stated. The court should take notice of them, petitioner prayed.
It was further said in the petition that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was performing his duties like a puppet under dictatorship of President Asif Ali Zardari and the steps being taken by him were detrimental to democracy.
The petitioner has requested in its petition that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani be declared disqualified for non-implementing superior court’s orders and committing contempt of court . Online
