ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) has approved the motion for constitution of Parliamentary Committee (PC) to review law and order situation in Karachi and Quetta and finalize recommendations on this count.
Special PC will visit Karachi and Quetta, review the situation, work out recommendations and present its report in National Assembly (NA) within two months.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik presented the proposal for constitution of special PC in senate session with reference to situation of Karachi and Quetta. All the political partiers have agreed over this proposal.
Sheikh Aftab of PML-N tabled motion in the house in connection with formation of parliamentary committee that was approved unanimously.
Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said it was not the responsibility of only government to ensure law and order situation in Karachi but it was joint responsibility of all the political parties.
Sheikh Aftab demanded that chiefs of all security agencies including ISI should give briefing to parliament about Karachi situation.
