Zardari-Karzai discuss anti-terrorism measures, bilateral relations, increased measures in trade

ISLAMABAD: Afghan President, Hamid Karzai held a one-on-one meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, prior to official Pakistan-Afghanistan talks, for more than 40 minutes.

The talks focused on such issues as joint anti-terrorism measures, bilateral relations regional security and increased measures in trade.
Sources have informed that the Afghan President also briefed President Asif Ali Zardari about Afghanistan’s ongoing talks with Taliban, assuring President Zardari that Afghan soil would not allowed to be used against Pakistan.
ONLINE reports that President Asif Ali Zardari demanded that Pakistan should also be taken into confidence regarding this ongoing consensus with Taliban.
President Asif Ali Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s keen desire for a strong and stable Afghanistan, stressing that Afghan leadership should also care about security of Pakistani borders.
