The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime launched the World Drug Report 2011 in Islamabad here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion the UNODC representative in Pakistan Jeremy
Douglas said the report documents developments in the global drug
market and the challenges faced by the developing world in this regard.
He said the report provides guidelines for formulating national and international level policies and regulations and will provide a solid foundation for counter-narcotics and criminal justice interventions.
Special envoy of the UN Secretary General for Assistance to Pakistan Rauf Engin Soysal said the world body stands with Pakistan in the efforts for drug control. He said through joint efforts we can make a drug free world.

The Secretary Minister of Narcotics Control Iftikhar Ahmad said the
government has devised a comprehensive strategy for drug control in the
county.
He said a drug-use survey will be started in Pakistan with the help
of United Nations at the end of this year to ascertain the exact number
of the drug users in the country. SANA
