Rehman Malik confirms killing of Ilyas Kashmiri

SLAMABAD: Amid skepticism about the death of Al-Qaeda’s terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri in a drone attack on Friday night, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday confirmed the information saying that the mastermind of PNS Mehran attack had been killed.

Talking to the media persons, the minister informed that all ground intelligence showed that Kashmiri had been killed in the drone attacks. He further stated that they would hold briefing on PNS Mehran base attack that martyred ten security forces personnel. “Our security law enforcement agencies are sacrificing their lives in order to strengthen the country”, he added.
He stated that they did not support any drone attack and wanted Pakistan should handed over the technology, he maintained.
Earlier, the minister called on Inspector General of Frontier Corps Balochistan, Major General Obaidullah Khan Khatak at FC headquarters in Quetta. Besides scores of other matters, issues pertaining to law and order situation were discussed during the meeting which lasted for quite some time. 
Both agreed on the capacity building of the FC on modern lines to tackle with the anti-peace elements and improve law and order in the province. IG FC on the occasion informed Rehman Malik about the steps being taken by the FC for the maintenance of peace in the region. Online
