Britain wants political solution of Afghanistan: Ambassador William Petty

British ambassador William Petty has said that they want a political solution of Afghanistan issue and wanted to support negotiation with Taliban.

He added that this is not possible to deny the role of Pakistan to restore the peace and India has not association with security matters in Afghanistan.
William Petty expressed his views during the meeting of standing committee of National Assembly for foreign affairs.
Meeting was headed by Dr Farooq Star in Parliament House in the presence of high foreign ministry officials where members of the committee expressed concern over the increasing influence of India in Afghanistan.
British ambassador said that global community understands the reservations of Pakistan however; India is not involved in security matters.
During the meeting, members informed the British ambassador about Afghanistan’s situation.
William Petty said that allies would not withdraw from Afghanistan till 2014 and allies forces would stay in Afghanistan for the help of afghan army and military and in three years Afghan Army would be made strong to control the Afghanistan.
After meeting, talking with the media, Farooq Star said that members questioned about the Afghanistan’s matters and talked about the role of Pakistan in current situation in Afghanistan and members informed the British ambassador about the influence of India in Pakistan neighbor.
British ambassador admired the Pakistan’s efforts for political solution. He stressed that there should be direct bilateral system among Pak-Afg like three party mechanism on security measures and local mechanism can be more affective for the peace and stability.
While replying the members of committee ambassador answered that, they do not take opinion from Indian consulate about the security in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile members of the committee shares suggestions with the ambassador regarding the rehabilitations of Afghanistan in the current conditions. SANA
