Pakistan court moved to stem criticism of army

A lawyer has filed a petition in Pakistan's Supreme Court to seek an order restraining the media from criticising the armed forces, intelligence agencies and security establishments.

Dawn reported Friday that Muhammad Ghazi, an advocate, said the media should be restrained from levelling baseless allegations against these institutions so that their work was not hampered.
The petition also asked the court to lay down guidelines to protect institutions from baseless allegations and criticism. IANS
