Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said on Thursday that army would leave the tribal areas if the locals take over their responsibilities.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Wana-Angur Adda road in
South Waziristan Agency, he said that Rs. 20 billions have been spent
on the development projects in the area. He said Wana-Angur Adda road
would not only reduce the distance between Afghanistan and Pakistan but
will also promote the trade between the two countries.
Kayani also inaugurated a cadet college in Wana. He announced a
girl’s college would be established here. Youngsters of the area would
be offered best education, Kayani announced.
He said peace of the area is disturbed by the intruders and Pak Army
would continue to play its role for cleaning the area from the
terrorists.
He praised the tribal people calling them the strength of Pakistan and said whenever Pakistan needed they offered sacrifices. SANA
