ISLAMABAD : Federal minister for Defence Ch Ahmad Mukhtar has
expressed his concerns over statement of opposition leader Ch Nisar,
who himself being son of a soldier, had publically stated that Army had
a spokesperson in the person of the President of Pakistan.
In a
statement issued from his office today in the context of opposition
leader’s statement, The defense minister remind the opposition leader
should know that the President of Pakistan is regarded as the supreme
commander of the armed forces of the country, and this privilege, the
president enjoys by the constitution.
He also reminded the
opposition leader that the president and his children donated their
blood for brave and valiant soldiers of the country who lay down their
lives for the protection of the motherland; as this act of the
President and his children was a token of their firm resolve in fight
against terrorism and militancy, for which President had himself lost
his wife and his children have lost their mother.

Mukhtar further stated that, PPPP believed in democratic norms, one of
which was the respect for majority, which should also be respected as
the parliament supported the President’s policies of eliminating the
menace of terrorism and extremism from the country. The Defence
Minister said, this is not the time to indulge in blame game, and
demoralize the armed forces, as Armed forces needed full moral support
to appreciate their heroism and boost their morale. Online
