Jonathan Trott has been named England's Cricketer of the Year for his run-scoring feats over the past 12 months.
The award, voted for by the British cricket media, is given to the player who has had the greatest impact on England's performances from the start of the 2010 international season until the end of the recent World Cup in the Indian subcontinent, The Herald Sun reports.
In that time, Trott played 32 times for England, scoring 2246 runs at an average of 68.06.
It includes seven hundreds and a highest score of 226 in the Lord's Test against Bangladesh last year.
The 30-year-old's good form continued with 203 in England's innings win in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Cardiff this week.
Having beaten his captain, Andrew Strauss, and team-mates Jimmy Anderson, Alastair Cook and last year's recipient Graeme Swann, Trott said: "I am both extremely humbled and proud to have been named England Cricketer of the Year after what has clearly been the most enjoyable year of my cricketing career so far."
"It is an honour to represent England and it has been a privilege to be involved in such a successful, hard-working team," he added. (ANI)
