Eight people killed by militants in Dir of North Waziristan Pakistan

At least eight people including seven policemen and one woman passerby were killed in a checkpoint attack launched Wednesday morning by militants in the Upper Dir district of northwest Pakistan,
reported local Urdu TV channel Express.
According to the local media reports, the attack took place when a group of militants from Afghanistan tried to enter Pakistan through the Upper Dir district which borders Afghanistan.
The firing between the militants and the securities forces is still going on, said the local media reports, adding that more than a dozen of militants are involved in the attack.
In retaliation, the Pakistani security forces fired back at the militants by gunship helicopters.
