ISLAMABAD: Mian Nawaz Sharif postponing his program to express
condolence with President Asif Ali Zardari on the demise of his father
Hakim Ali Zardari at Nawab Shah due to bad weather has demanded
formation of an independent commission for investigation of the
terrorist attack on Mehran naval base in Karachi.
Dr Asif
secretary to Mian Nawaz Sharif has told Mian Nawaz Sharif will condole
with Asif Zardari within a few days and PPP leadership has been
informed in this respect.
Talking to media men here at
Islamabad airport Thursday Mian Nawaz Sharif had said attack on Mehran
base was not less than Abbottabad operation in intensity. An
independent and neutral commission should also be constituted to probe
into Karachi incident, he demanded.
Government had not shown
any sincerity on resolution adopted in joint session of parliament, he
regretted. No reply to the letter written by opposition leader in
National Assembly had been given by the government so far, he pointed
out.
A resolution was passed in joint session of both the
houses of parliament on Abbottabad operation but no headway had been
made so far on this count, he deplored. Government should respect joint
resolution, he stressed. What parliament says be implemented, he added.
“We will have to pursue the path of self accountability rather than extending begging bowl’, he urged.
