WASHINGTON – The U.S.-Pakistani relationship is vital to defeating
al Qaeda, the White House said on Monday, but acknowledged "differences of
opinion" between the two governments over fighting militants.
John Brennan, President Barack Obama's top counter terrorism adviser, also
told reporters that it was understandable that U.S. lawmakers raise questions
about U.S. aid to Pakistan in the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden in an
upscale neighborhood near to Islamabad. Reuters
