Renowned television, stage, film artist Moin Akhtar passes away in Karachi

Karachi : Renowned television, film and stage artist Moin Akhtar, 61, passed away Friday in Karachi after suffering a heart attack. He was under treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Malir Cantonment. He leaves behind a widow, three daughters and two sons.

Moin Akhtar was also a top comedian, impersonator, a host, play writer, singer, film director and a producer. He appeared on Pakistan Television PTV on September 6, 1966 in a variety show to celebrate first Defense Day of Pakistan. Later, he performed in TV plays/shows and made a team with Anwar Maqsood and Ms Bushra Ansari.
He spoke many languages - Urdu, English, Bengali, Sindhi, Punjabi, Memon, Pushto, Gujarati, etc. He isbeloved for providing humor for people of all ages, with an etiquette that remains unmatched. His fansare spread all around the globe.Moin Akhtar achieved acclaim for his performance in drama Rosy /Rozy,  in which he played role of a female TV artist. It was Urdu adaptation of Hollywood movie Tootsie starring Dustin Hoffman. PPI
