Quetta: Doctors of different government hospitals in Baluchistan Thursday observed strike on second day against the murder of their senior colleague after abducting him from Bolan Medical College.

As per details, the doctors working in different public sector hospitals in Quetta and other cities of the province were on strike on an appeal from Pakistan Medical Association to protest against the assassination of Professor Dr. Mumtaz Hyder who had been killed last Tuesday by unknown assassins. Two-day strike of doctors across the province created so many problems to patients who had to face hardships. Due to strike all departments including Emergency and Operation Theaters of Bolan Medical Complex and Sundeman Hospital remained close. President of the Pakistan Medical Association Baluchistan, Dr. Sultan Tareen said that murder of Dr. Mumtaz Hyder was unacceptable and doctors must be provided full security. He reiterated that their strike would be continued until the culprits of murderer were not brought to justice. Dr. Tareen further said that only Emergencies and OTs would remain open during the strike.
On other hand, Chief Minister of Baluchistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani warned the doctors to come back on their duties in 24 hours or else they would be fired.
