London : Mark Sedwill has been appointed as UK Special Representative for Afghanistan & Pakistan after return from Kabul where he served as NATO senior civilian representative.
Britain’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office Friday said Sedwill will also concurrently serve in FCO as Director-General (Afghanistan & Pakistan). He succeeds Karen Pierce, Director for South Asia & Afghanistan. Sedwill will assume charge in early May. Earlier he was British Ambassador in Kabul & Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan
