Finance Minister lead Pakistan delegation at IMF, World Bank annual meetings

Washington  : Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh who arrived here will lead Pakistan delegation at IMF and World Bank annual spring meetings and speak on economic reforms, exports, growthprospects, etc.

He will also meet World Bank President Robert Zoellick, senior IMF officials and counterparts from United States, China, Britain, Germany, interact with U.S. business leaders, address Pakistan, US Business Council focusing on enhancing trade, economic ties.Dr Sheikh in talks with IMF Mission Chief for Pakistan Adnan Mazaeri will review progress on completion of $11.3 billion program ahead of fifth review of performance for release of last two remaining tranche of $3.3 billion.Pakistani officials say despite last year's devastating floods and security challenges, Pakistan is heading to better growth path. Major crops including wheat, cotton are expected to surpass production targets and exports total around $24 billion during this fiscal year. Dr Sheikh is accompanied by Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Secretaries Finance, Economic Affairs & Chairman Federal Board of Revenue.
