ISLAMABAD : Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that under the directive of the President Asif Ali Zardari the federal government will take every measure to ensure protection to Mukhtaran Mai.
Responding to point of order raised by Sheri Rehman in the National Assembly on Friday, he said that the Punjab Government will also be contacted in this regard.
He said the federal government will provide all possible legal assistance to Mukhtaran Mai to file review petition in the Supreme Court.
Earlier in a point of order Sheri Rehman said that Human Rights Organization and PPP workers had been involved in the movement to provide justice to Mukhtaran Mai. He said it is the collective responsibility to help her in filing a review petition. She appealed the President and the Prime Minister to take measure to provide protection to Mukhtaran Mai.SANA
