Drone attacks continuing with Government consent: Ahsan Iqbal

KARACHI: To further squash the ruling powers into back stages, Pakistan Muslim League (N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal flayed at the government saying that the drone attacks are being continued with the consent of the government.

Speaking in a news conference at the Muslim League House here on Tuesday, Ahsan Iqbal said that the US spy strikes could not be continued without approval of the government. He further said the ruling party in Sindh was confused with the developmental projects of the PML-N, adding that they would continue to support the poor segments of the society.
He further stated that the nationalist parties of the province also condemned the torture in the party secretariat. The PML-N would not be got down by the administrative pressure, as it had bravely faced the tenure of former president Pervez Musharraf, he added.
The PML-N central leader said that his party would pull the country out of the crises particularly corruption and price hike. He asked the workers to fortify the party with courage and patience.
Commenting on the making of new provinces, Ahsan Iqbal opined that the new federating units should be formed on administrative bases. Consensus which was observed in the 18th amendment would be needed in this regard too, he maintained.
The PML-N leader said it was surprising to note that the PPP government was holding re-trial of three decades old Bhutto case but has not been able to nab murderers of Benazir Bhutto who was assassinated just three years back. The government wants to hide its failure behind the Bhutto reference,” he observed. Online
