ISLAMABAD: The present government has not signed any agreement with
the United States on terrorism, the Parliamentary Committee on National
Security was informed on Thursday.
The Committee met here with
chairman Senator Raza Rabbani. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar in the
chair and senior officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of
Defence and members of committee attended the meeting.
Sources told Online the committee reviewed post NATO strikes situation and Memogate scandal.
The
meeting was told that there was no substance in the recent statements
of Mansoor Ejaz on Memogate scandal and the government had no relevance
with Memogate issue.
Talking to reporters after the meeting
Senator Raza Rabbani said foreign minister apprised the parliamentary
committee of the details of two accords reached with the US and the
NATO. The Defense Ministry briefed the committee about the remaining
details of these agreements, he pointed out. The agreements brokered
with US, ISAF and NATO run between 8 and 9.
Responding to a
question he said ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of defense
were holding no record in regard to verbal agreements. The Defense
ministry had been directed to present the details of the agreements
reached with the US and NATO in next meeting of the committee, he said.
Rabbani said parliamentary committee would hold its meetings on
Memogate scandal on December, 21 and on US-Pakistan relations on
