Low paid employees criticize gas load-shedding

ISLAMABAD: Low paid government employees in sectors G-6 and G-7 have protested against severe load shedding saying they have been made victims while posh areas stand exempted from long hours of load shedding .

"We are from lower middle class and low paid employees and are residing in various sectors including sector G-6, G-7 but are heavily suffering from the gas load shedding. Our sectors are populated by lower middle class, small traders, lower middle class therefore, these sectors are worst affected areas in gas load shedding hours", said a group of class four employees from different government departments.
" Look at the posh areas. They stand exempted as no such long hours load shedding is being observed posh sectors. Only the discriminatory treatment is being given to us in load shedding , said a vendor.
"We can not afford to purchase chappatis from market daily as our limited salary parameters don’t allow us such luxurious spending", said Ali Akbar, a telephone attendant in some private company.
Residents of these sectors have demanded of the government to take immediate steps to ensure supply of gas with increased pressure otherwise they will be constrained to observe hunger strike. Online
