ISLAMABAD: Encroachments have mushroomed in sectors G-11, G.12 and F-11 due to illegal allotments being made by land mafia.
Land
Mafia is selling land on stamp paper illegally in these sectors despite
imposition of ban by CDA on construction of all types.
An
illegal market has been constructed form Jaffar Chowk to Kashmir Highway
along side service road adjacent to G-11 and F-11.
Work on
illegal constructions is in full swing in sector G-12. CDA had purchased
this land from the local population and had imposed ban on construction
of every kind therein after 1985.But land mafia in collusion with
concerned quarters sold out the land to the people.
These
encroachments are creating traffic problems as well as other sanitary
related problems, said Omar Sharif citizen. All the illegal
constructions had been made without the approval of concerned
authorities and without any planning, therefore, they were posing health
hazards due to lack of cleanliness arrangements, said Muhammad Nawaz, a
school teacher.
Citizens have demanded of CDA chairman to take
action against the encroachers and the corrupt officials found
responsible in this shady business of illegal constructions besides
ensuring removal of these encroachments. Online
