Asma Jehangir asks Suprme Court to question DG ISI in memo case

ISLAMABAD: Asma Jehangir, counsel for former Pakistan ambassador in the US Hussain Haqqani, during memo case hearing on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to question DG ISI as to when and why he met Mansoor Ijaz.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said the court also wanted all the records and facts to be brought to light.
Asma Jehangir questioned as to why the DGI ISI had not made Mansoor Ijaz a party when he went into litigation against a British newspaper and its journalist.
At one point during the course of the hearing of the memogate case, Asma Jehangir said to the CJ ’you are holding the pen and can make any judgement you want’. To this Justice Jawad Khwaja said the CJ’s pen was for ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution and law.  Online
