PPP to contest general elections with coalition partners: Babar Awan

Former federal minister for law Babar Awan has said that the forthcoming general elections of 2013 would be fair and transparent and PPP will contest it along with coalition partners including Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and will come into power with full public mandate.

Talking to a delegation of lawyers headed by a ticket holder of provincial assembly constituency 274 and former president of Bar Association Hasilpour Chaudhry Muazzam Kamal Anees, he said that the son of so called Khadim-e-Ala Punjab Hamza Shehbaz is getting monthly income from DCO’s and DPO’s of provincial government.
Babar Awan said that PML (N) is creating crisis due to fears of the forthcoming Senate elections which would be held in March, though March would pass and democratic process would continue in the country. He said that millions of people are with PPP and these are speculations that ruling party is losing its popularity.
He further said that the forthcoming 2013 general elections will be fair and transparent and once again PPPP will get public mandate and prove it that PPPP has its vote bank and still popular among masses.
Babar said that there is no danger for democracy and when there was a time to save democracy then Bhagora brothers ran away by getting pardon. He said that democratic government can not be threatened by resignations. If PML (N) tendered their resignations from National and Provincial Assemblies then according to constitution government would hold by elections.
He said to delegation that PPP follow the mission of Benazir Bhutto to empower common man and the continuation of democracy, adding that protest is the right of opposition and it’s the beauty of democratic process.
Parliament is supreme institution and opposition should bring all matters before parliament. Replying to a question about Shah Mehmood’s resignation he said that a person who changes parties because of self interest then he may not be loyal to any one. SANA
