Former federal minister for law Babar Awan has said that the forthcoming general
elections of 2013 would be fair and transparent and PPP will contest it
along with coalition partners including Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and
will come into power with full public mandate.
Talking to a delegation of lawyers headed by a ticket holder of
provincial assembly constituency 274 and former president of Bar
Association Hasilpour Chaudhry Muazzam Kamal Anees, he said that the son
of so called Khadim-e-Ala Punjab Hamza Shehbaz is getting monthly
income from DCO’s and DPO’s of provincial government.
Babar Awan said that PML (N) is creating crisis due to fears of the
forthcoming Senate elections which would be held in March, though March
would pass and democratic process would continue in the country. He said
that millions of people are with PPP and these are speculations that
ruling party is losing its popularity.
He further said that the forthcoming 2013 general elections will be
fair and transparent and once again PPPP will get public mandate and
prove it that PPPP has its vote bank and still popular among masses.
Babar said that there is no danger for democracy and when there was a
time to save democracy then Bhagora brothers ran away by getting
pardon. He said that democratic government can not be threatened by
resignations. If PML (N) tendered their resignations from National and
Provincial Assemblies then according to constitution government would
hold by elections.
He said to delegation that PPP follow the mission of Benazir Bhutto
to empower common man and the continuation of democracy, adding that
protest is the right of opposition and it’s the beauty of democratic
process.
Parliament is supreme institution and opposition should bring all
matters before parliament. Replying to a question about Shah Mehmood’s
resignation he said that a person who changes parties because of self
interest then he may not be loyal to any one. SANA
