PM Gilani directs all concerned departments to provide available info to parliamentary body regarding memo issue

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed the Foreign Office and Defence Ministry to provide available information regarding the memogate scandal to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security.

According to the notification issued by the prime minister secretariat the committee could summon the relevant persons.
Meanwhile the committee will submit its recommendations to prime minister and prime minister would decide it to present in National Assembly and Senate.
Chairman Committee Mian Raza Rabbani has cancelled his visit to UK and the investigation on governmental level is also hand over to the committee.
Prime minister directed the relevant ministries for full cooperation with the committee and if needed the committee should summon DG ISI Ahmad Shuja Pasha and former ambassador Hussain Haqqani and the committee will start the investigation into the memo in this week.
17 member parliamentary committee is headed by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani and comprising Senator Babar Awan, Senator Ishaq Dar, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Senator Wasim Sajjad, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Asfandyar Wali Khan, Maulana Fazalur Rehman, Munir Khan Orakzai, Professor Senator Khurshid Ahmed, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Senator Abdul Rahim Mandokehl, Senator Israrullah Zehri and Senator Shahid Hussain Bugti.
It is worth mentioning here that the meeting of committee was summoned by the chairman committee on the letter of PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar and the common consensus summoned the secretaries of foreign office and defence ministry for briefing over the memo-age scandal. SANA
