ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Ghauri
Wednesday expressed reservations over presence of Zulfikar Miraz in
London.
Talking to media men outside the Parliament House, he
sked the government if Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza enjoyed its support. He said:
"We have expressed our concerns during a meeting with the Prime
Minister.".
"We asked the Prime Minister about the status in
which Sharjeel Memon, the Provincial Minister, was accompanying Dr.
Zulfiqar Mirza - the man who is hurling accusations against MQM."
Babar Ghauri said the Prime Minister, in response, assured of taking a necessary action in the matter.
He
said the Supreme Court had prohibited wielding of weapons openly in
public but last night during a big public meeting weapons were exhibited
with impunity. No action was taken by police or Rangers against them,
he regretted.
The MQM leader said that last night Altaf Hussain
talked to President Zardari and that it was hoped that the government
would take action in the matter. Online
