ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has approved a four per cent increase in electricity tariff.
The
increase has been approved in addition to the tariff increase passed on
to the consumers directly due to increase in the international oil
prices.
Since last year power tariff has cumulatively increased by 70 per cent.
During the current year the government has to increase the electricity tariff by 12 per cent.
The proposal for the increase in power tariff was also sent to the PM for the approval earlier but it was not improved then. Online
