Sale of sub-standard food in full swing

Islamabad: The sale of sub-standard fried eatables is on full swing on roadside stalls while there is no check and balance on these stalls on part of Food department.

Large number of stalls could be seen around roadside in different localities of federal capital selling traditional fried food like samosas, pakoras, French fries, jalaby, phaniyaan, boondi, Cham cham, fry bread, fry eggs, fry spinach, bason ke laddu, patisa, halwa puri, gulgulay, kabab, mince golas etc. The stallholders are not following the hygienic rules, which are causing abdomen diseases among the residents.
The stallholders fry this traditional food in sub-standard cooking oil and in pinching heat. The flies could be seen wandering and sitting on the food.
On the other side selling of unhygienic aalo chaat, dahi bhallay, gol gappay , ice golas and spurious beverages is aggravating problems. The rozadars like to eat these food on Aftar time but they should be careful while purchasing these foods from low standard stalls.
The residents have demanded of Food department to impose check and balance on these stallholders. Online
