People must play role for dengue free town: Kundi

LAHORE: Chairman Samanabad Town Committee for Dengue Mian Marghoob Ahmad said influential persons should come forward and play their role in creating awareness among people to make their area dengue free.

This he said while monitoring the door to door distribution of dengue safety kits to the deservings in union council 92, here on Sunday.
Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairmen of local zakat committees of the concerned union councils and officers of all concerned departments were also present on this occasion.
Mian Marghoob said that government was trying its level best and utilizing all its energies and resources to come up to the expectations of the people to save them from dengue virus and now its peoples responsibility to take steps and act on the precautionary measures advised by the government.
He said that number of dengue patients is reduced due to spray, fogging and public awareness campaigns.
Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan told that one thousand anti-dengue kits would be distributed in union council nos. 90, 92, 100 and 104 whereas in second phase these kits will also distributed in other five union councils of Samanabad Town.
He said that it’s the responsibility of the people, who received these kits, to adopt precautionary measures as written in the pamphlets and not only save themselves and their families but also make coordinated efforts in making the whole area dengue free by standing shoulder to shoulder with the government for the eradication of dengue virus.
Later, MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed and Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan conduct door to door campaign for the distribution of dengue safety kits along with concerned chairmen local Zakat committees. On this occasion they also paid a visit to the tubewell of the area and showed displeasure on the leakage of water and directed the SDO wasa in this connection.
People of the area complained that street lights were not in a proper condition, they directed the TMO Samanabad Town for immediate remedy of the problem. Online
