Philanthropic organization helps visually impaired students

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness (PFFB) distributed note books (laptops) to the 26 visually impaired students of different universities and colleges of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

PFFB is a registered Non-government organization (NGO) working in the field of humanitarian services for the visually impaired persons in Pakistan.
A ceremony was organized here at PFFB head office to distribute 26 note books to deserving visually impaired beneficiaries.
PFFB’s individual donor Khurram Hussain, who is a lawyer in United States (US) met beneficiaries of PFFB and discussed the difficulties being faced by the visually impaired students.
Khurram Hussain was hopeful that these note books will help visually impaired students in their education and learning modern techniques.
The beneficiaries came from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Gujar Khan, Taxila, Abbotabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand and Bahawalpur thanked the PFFB and its individual donor on this assistance.
Meanwhile, Chairman PFFB Abdullah Yousuf told this scribe that a fully equipped with screen reader software information technology (IT) centre was established in 2007 in Islamabad to provide technological assistance to the visually impaired university and college students of twin cities.
He added that PFFB also decided to include establishment of IT centers as part of the nationwide project on strong requests of the students across the country. He said the organization would set up IT centers in Lahore and Multan during coming months. Online
