ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned till October, 26 hearing of cases filed by family members of missing persons.
A
3-member bench of SC headed by Justice Mian Shakir Ullah Jan and
comprising Justice Jawad S Khawaja and Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali took
up the case of missing persons for hearing on Friday.
Interior
secretary Siddique Akbar appeared in the court and informed it that
government needed more time for payment of compensation to the family
members of those missing persons about whom the court had issued orders
to pay compensation. The court directed that compensation be paid till
next Wednesday.
Justice Jawad S Khawaja warned interior
secretary if court’s orders were not complied with then its consequences
be kept in view.
During the hearing Col Ali of Frontier Corps produced one Haroon Khan, a missing person before the court.
He told that he had been presented before the judicial commission and he had also recorded his statement. Online
