Mike Mullen statement against sovereignty of Pakistan: Chaudhry Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in NA Chaudhry Nisar has said statement given by Admiral Mike Mullen is against independence and sovereignty of Pakistan.

Ch Nisar said this in his informal chat with media men here Friday. He demanded that parliament be summoned to take the nation into confidence on worsening economic situation of the country and statement given by US admiral Mike Mullen for involving Pakistan army and ISI in attack on US embassy in Kabul.
The ever worst, incompetent and corrupt government is in place in the country for the first time of its history, he charged.
He said threats being received by Pakistan since the last few weeks have not only triggered concern in terms of country’s sovereignty but are also very detrimental .
US top functionaries used to use soft language for Pakistan traditionally but now they had descended upon using hard language. The statement given by Admiral Mike Mullen demands that rulers should cast off slumber, he held. The matter will not be resolved by giving explanations or entreating US, he underlined.
He went on to say that nation had not come out of anguish and torment caused by Abbottabad incident and the recent threats hurled by US are matter of grave concern. It was surprising that Admiral Mike Mullen statement is bereft of any sense and runs counter to the facts, he held. It is surprising to note that how can a responsible US military officer give such statement.
US operational steps are expected and the it is need of hour that rulers should summon parliament session in the wake of possible US operational step, he said adding the parliament and nation should be taken into confidence on such sensitive issues. On the other hand a clear national stance and policy be evolved in the face of looming threats. This issue will not be resolved through DG ISI visit to Washington or the explanations of foreign office, he observed. The need is there that nation be got united and a strong and coherent stance be adopted, he stressed.
He observed there could be no more enormous failure of government than it that business community was begging for peace from army chief in Karachi.
Rulers were not only incompetent from the very first day but also they are oblivious to the situation, he alleged.
Rupee value had plunged drastically and this horrendous fall had led to increase our loans by Rs 120 billions, he said adding reports are there about ending of IMF program . Foreign exchange reserves are depleting. Rulers have found its solution in increasing the tariff of electricity and gas, withdrawing the subsidy and increasing the price of petroleum products, he added.
Government is printing new currency notes valuing Rs 300 billion, he pointed out. Parliament be taken on board in the face of worsening economic situation of the country, he demanded.
He went on to say what the job was to be done by government had been done by Supreme Court within a few days. There was no feud of land or property in Karachi. The serious allegations levelled by the leaders of both the parties against each other should be explained. “ I will insist that these allegations be put into debate in National Assembly”, he said.
Responding to a question he said we had imposed foreign war on Pakistan on one telephonic call.
He underscored that national agenda was ready and PML-N could not move ahead this agenda alone.
Movements don’t run in the prevailing situation when nation was facing worst economic challenges, he said adding the pressure could be mounted if political forces were united Government and all institutions should have consensus and one stance on national issues, he urged.
The most corrupt and incompetent government has come to power for the first time during 60 years, he alleged. The role being played by army is some thing better than nothing But army will have to do some thing more in national issues, he remarked.
Us ambassador be summoned in foreign office and explanation be sought from him on Mike Mullen statement, he demanded. Online
